A death occurred yesterday morning, at his home in Altdale Terrace, Lezayre Road, Ramsey, of Mr William Blair, at the age of 76 years. Mr Blair, for upwards of 50 years, had been foreman of the engineering and foundry department of Messrs J Clague and Son, of Parliament Street, Ramsey. He was a director of Ramsey Amusements, Ltd. He leaves a widow but no family.

A man named John Davidson, of Lord's Town, in Bewcastle, was unfortunately killed as he was returning from Carlisle, on Saturday evening last with a horse and cart. The horse having taken fright, ran away, and the deceased getting tangled up in the trapping, was killed in that situation.

This indicated he was not born in the county the Census was conducted in.

Date is from the 1841 Census, which also rounded down the ages, so David may have been born between 1781 - 1786.
