7784 After Bill came back from Overseas, he was posted to Lyttleton on the HMNZS Hautapu mine sweeper.
Edna boarded with Mr McDowall who had a house in Station Road Heathcote.
Edna was unable to get to The Maternity Hospitals in Christchurch, so Edna needed to go to Dunedin.
Her father Adam Scott was the Station Master in Christchurch at the time, and he made sure that Edna was put in a first class compartment. This would have been for the birth of Brian.
During the time they stayed at Heathcote, Adam used to come and visit with his daughter Edna each lunch time.
After the war the family moved back to Dunedin.

7797 After Robert Elliot died, Helen his widow did not know what to do to secure the farm and sent William to 'Ballantyne of the Shaws' to ask for advice. Ballantyne told William to bring the deeds of the farm one day and come back the next day to claim the farm in his own name. This was done. but in the meatime Ballantyne registered the farm in his own name and then threw the Elliots out of Toftholm.
It is said that Roberts Widow put a curse on Ballantyne - The Widows Curse.

7798 After William was released from jail in Lyttleton, it appears that he went to seek his fortune on the gold fields of the West coast.
Then he and Mary have reunited.
They have then moved to the North Island to start a new life.
Sidney has always been known as a Corlett and part of William and Mary Ann's family, and a new child Eleanor was born in 1882.
