| 8172 | As a child she was boarded at Mrs Shadford's in Port Chalmers so she could attend school. She was kept back from school on Fridays so she could black the coal range. She had a reputation for being delicate. As a young women she spent some time in a sanatorium near Palmerston most likely with TB. After her sister Emily died, she never cried again. She was very keen on horse racing and used to attend race meetings with her sister Eliza. Mag would look after the boarders on these occasions. In her later years she lived in a couple of rooms upstairs in the family home. After her death the family home was demolished by the Port Chalmers Council and all the family photo albums and associated memorabilia were destroyed in the operation. | Clark, Lilian Mary (Mary) (I163)

| 8185 | As I cannot locate further details about Douglas, I am uncertain about her age, birth place or even date and place of death. Others on Ancestry have listed her parents as Adam Hall and Euphemia Douglas who married in 1768 Oxnam Roxburgh and for Douglas to be born around 1786. As I cannot locate these details regarding children born to them I cannot be certain these are her parents. Parents marriage details show on Familysearch with Film No 1067950 & 0102300 - 13 Dec 1768, Oxnam Roxburgh. But no children on Familysearch are showing to this relationship. Definately not the birth of a Douglas Hall to parents John Hall and Isabel Cannie in August 1770 at Leith South - this is a boy! More investigation needs to be done | Hall, Douglas (I68)

| 8192 | As per Census records, born Colinton, Midlothian about 1820, but on death indexes in 1893 says she was born about 1809 ? Suspect age on death certificate to be wrong. Birth yet to be located. Details come from research done by Adam G Scott 22 June 1937 Have checked OPR's on microfiche as well as on RGO Internet site. appears not be registered or baptised. All data worked on death certificate and other information gathered regarding parentage. This is also the time of major distruption between churches. |
| 8196 | As William's Death Certificate does not list his parents names, and his marriage would have occurred before Civil Reg and also cannot be located as the OPR records are missing for that time frame, It is making it very difficult to find out exactly who William's parents might have been. Everyone seems to be stuck on this Brick Wall as well. Only if William Scott had other Brothers or Sisters in which descendants have tested with DNA will be able to locate some details. | Scott, William (I379)

He urged that when the men were being knocked off only the best should be retained. | Pauling, James Henry (Gibson) (I555)
