- On Monday the funeral took place, at Petersfield Cemetery, of Mrs Elizabeth Passingham, who passed away at her residence, 14 Charles Street, Petersfield, on Friday last. The deceased, who had been an invalid for 18 years, and had been confined to her bed for the last four months, will probably be remembered by many Petersfield people as the daughter of the late Mr Henry Kimber, who some 40 years ago kept the Blue Anchor Inn, Petersfield, and also as the widow of the late Mr W J Passingham, who for many years carried on what was known as the business of the Portsmouth Mineral Water Company in Chapel Street. The late Mrs Passingham was 54 years of age, and had resided in Petersfield for 45 years.. The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. W E Summers. The chief mourners were Mr W J Passingham (son), Misses Bessie and Nellie Hill (daughters), Miss E Passingham (daughter), Mrs E Passingham, Mr George Kimber (brother), Mrs Phillips, and Mrs Perris (sisters), Mrs T Hill, (niece), and Mr A Baker. The coffin, which was of polished elm, with brass fittings, was covered with a number of beautiful floral tributes, including tokens from "Relatives and friends at 14 Charles Street", Mrs Kimber (mother), "Aunt Rose and Uncle Jack", "Aunt Louie and family", Mr Stanford Fisk, Mr and Mrs W H Grant, Mrs Albery, and "Friends in Charles Street". The funeral arrangements were satisfactorily carried out by Messrs A and G Barnes. The relatives desire, through the medium of these columns, to return thanks for the many expressions of sympathy which they have received in their bereavement.
